What do you buy the lady in your life?

Its that time of the year again - the time to go gift shopping. But if you cant face the crowds and the parking and the hassle - heres my guide to gift giving to the lady in your life!

Most men have this problem at least a few times throughout the year. Valentines Day, Birthdays and Christmas are the obvious ones ....what do we buy for that special lady who puts up with us all year.

Chocolates

Yummmm - but are we buying them for her or (as she probably suspects) for ourselves? I know I'm partial to the odd chocolate or five ..... plus she's probably on a diet....so rule this one out.

Flowers

Flowers are good but they have inherent problems like... how long will they last? If you buy them before they bloom then they dont look really special but if they are in bloom....how many days are they gonna last? Its very annoying when your lovingly chosen (...ahem...cough) display is in the black bin bag before the week is out.

Jewellery

Ahhh Jewellery or Jewelry (as our American cousins might spell it) is often very welcome. But do you know if she is allergic to gold or just hates charm bracelets? The dilemma....the strife...what size are her fingers ....I dare you to ask :-)

Hotel Stay

Now this is my own gals present of choice. Its hard to go wrong with a night or two in a plush hotel in a fancy city. But make sure its not a two star fleapit or you are gonna regret it big time.

Lingerie

Wow you are brave if you take this option. You have to run the gauntlet of the lingerie shop, the helpful sales assistants, the giving of a bra 2 sizes two small or worse - 2 sizes too big. And just when were you ever told that see thru undies were the order of the day...
Avoid Avoid Avoid

Meal Out

Ok a Meal Out can be nice. Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican. Avoid the garlic and all that pre dinner bread and maybe you will be fit to round the night off with a little hows your father.

Perfume

Yikes have you got a whiff of some of the gas bombs out there masquerading for fragrance? Most of them would have me running for the hills...or at least some fresh air, but if you know your gal's toilet water of choice and you can tolerate it then maybe this is the one for you.

So Im sure after reading this you are a lot clearer as to which option you are going to plump for. Eats, Sweets, Smell, Hotel, Bling or a Ring.
